TB-500 is a synthetic peptide based on thymosin beta-4, a small protein of 43 amino acids found naturally in many cell types. It is best known in research for the way it binds to actin, and its link to the inner scaffolding that gives cells their shape.
It also has a solid research base, with work exploring how thymosin beta-4 behaves at the cellular level (Sosne et al., 2010, Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences). That makes it a common reference peptide in lab studies of how cells move and rebuild their structure.
